  • A thin line of silicone caulk is perfect for air sealing window frames.
  • Use silicone tubing to seal around entry doors. Door sweeps stop air exchange beneath entry doors.
  • If you have an attic hatch, use foam weatherstripping to seal it up.
  • Spray-in foam is perfect for larger gaps around piping and cables. It may also be used to seal cracks in your basement floor and any gaps in cladding.

Insulation If the energy audit reveals insulation deficiencies in exterior walls, that's typically a job for your HVAC pro. If you are a do-it-yourself type of homeowner, you may add insulation to your attic without too much trouble. Fiberglass rolls are a cost-effective material to choose.
