Ductless mini-split heat pumps are a great way to add heating and cooling to single rooms of your home, and are becoming a more and more popular option for a whole-house solution to both heating and cooling. They offer advanced technology and easy controls, making them a popular choice for homeowners in the Hampton Roads area.
Ductless heat pumps offer a number of benefits that make them very appealing to our customers:
Because of their size and design, ductless mini-splits can deliver heating and cooling directly into different zones in your Hampton Roads area home. In comparison, traditional HVAC systems rely on bulky ductwork systems to heat and cool. At Russell’s Heating & Cooling, we’ve found mini-split heat pumps particularly effective for the common “front room over garage” (FROGs) that are often added on to homes in our area.
Since they are so energy efficient, ductless mini-split heat pumps use much less electricity than traditional units to heat and cool. They allow you to cut back on your central systems by taking over the HVAC needs in certain areas of the home and cut your overall energy bill. Plus, they qualify for federal and state rebates and tax incentives that can really save!
Mini-split heat pumps have multiple filtration systems that remove dust, pollen and other particulates from outdoor air before it enters your house. The filters are easy to get and easy to clean.
We love the Mitsubishi mini-split heat pumps we install because they can be installed and running very quickly with very little mess or inconvenience for our customers. As a Mitsubishi Diamond Dealer, technicians from Russell’s Heating & Cooling are specifically trained in installation and annual cleaning and maintenance. As an added bonus, when you deal with a Mitsubishi Diamond Dealer, you receive a 12 year warranty on parts!
Ductless heat pumps have two prime components: the exterior heat pump unit and the interior wall unit that provides the fans for distribution and filters for clean air. The exterior heat pump is generally mounted on the side of the building using brackets. Most folks find that they operate very quietly, but the heat pump can be located in a convenient location away from bedrooms. The interior component is a sleek unit that is placed high on the wall and wirelessly controlled with a remote.
Once installed, the interior mini-split unit can be programmed for heating, cooling, recycling fan or dehumidifying. Special controls allow for configuring the vent blades for action and direction for optimal comfort tailored to your preferences. No more over-heating or cooling empty rooms!
